Bringing low-cost microchipping to Dunedin cats since 2014!
Microchips provide a record of identification for life. A microchip is a small device that is about the size of a grain of rice, and is implanted under the skin on the back of the neck. The microchip has a unique number that can be read by a microchip scanner.

WHY COME TO US?… because we care about your cat’s wellbeing, and we will go the extra mile to ensure they have the best possible experience.
Our purpose built mobile cat-only clinic rotates around different locations in Dunedin each week to make microchipping more accessible to all cats. When you come to our clinic, you can expect us to use proven low-stress handling techniques (no scruffing or heavy physical restraint) and we will give lots of positive reinforcement (treats!) to calm and reassure your cat. We also use smaller 8.5mm mini microchips (instead of the cheaper 12mm chips) and local anaesthetic cream on the skin, so that there is minimal discomfort to your pet. The process is very quick, and all our microchips are implanted using best practice technique by an experienced and qualified veterinary nurse, and NZCAR approved microchip implanter.
Microchips by Feline Focus are registered with the New Zealand Companion Animal Register, and are compliant with International Standards (ISO) so they will work with microchip cat flaps and pet feeders.
Can’t make it to a clinic? We also do home visits for a small travel fee.
